Learning, not answer-copying
The tutor works like a patient teacher: it asks a guiding question, offers hints, and if you're really stuck it walks through a worked example and gives you a similar one to try. Practice questions are marked instantly by a maths engine, so feedback is reliable.
Free for whānau
Students can start without an account. Parents and caregivers can create a free account to add learner profiles, follow progress in the Learning Passport and get more daily tutoring — free of charge, with fair daily limits so it stays free for everyone.
Private and safe
Children never need an email address or password — a parent or caregiver sets up a nickname-only profile. Personal details typed into the chat are removed automatically, data is stored in Sydney, Australia, and there is no advertising to children.
Year levels
New Zealand year levels are numbered differently from Australia's (NZ students start Year 1 at five and finish at Year 13). Choose the year that best matches the maths you're working on — you can change it at any time. Senior secondary students can use the tutor for algebra and other Year 11–12 maths topics.
Curriculum
Dedicated support for the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA is planned. Until it has been mapped and reviewed by teachers, the tutor uses general year-level maths and does not claim curriculum or NCEA alignment.

Support if something's not okay
Success AI Tutor is a learning tool, not a counselling service. If a student mentions feeling unsafe, the tutor encourages them to talk to a trusted adult and shares local support: Youthline (0800 376 633 or text 234), Need to talk? (Call or text 1737). In an emergency, call 111.
