Safety
Our approach to child safety
Success AI Tutor is designed for students aged about 6 to 18. These are the safeguards built into the product today.
The tutor is an AI
The tutor always says it is an AI. It can make mistakes, so important answers should be checked with a teacher or parent. Arithmetic in practice questions and student answers is verified by a calculator.
Moderation
- Messages are screened before reaching the AI. Unsafe requests are declined and redirected to learning.
- Tutor replies are screened before they are shown.
- Instructions that try to change the tutor's rules are ignored.
- Personal information is removed from messages before storage or processing.
If a child may be at risk
If a student mentions self-harm, abuse or being unsafe, the tutor does not try to counsel them. It responds kindly, encourages them to talk to a trusted adult, and shares support services. The event is recorded for review by trained Success Tutoring staff under our escalation process.

What we don't do
- No chatting between users.
- No behavioural advertising directed at children.
- No features designed to create emotional dependency on the AI.
- Staff cannot browse private conversations; safety reviewers see only short, redacted excerpts of flagged messages.
